IRI Announces Annual Top Beer Brand Performers and Blue Moon is #1
The coveted No. 1 Beer Brand Performer spot went to Blue Moon Belgian White Ale. Coors Light came in at No. 6 ahead of Bud Light and Miller Lite. In addition, Keystone Light ranked No. 11, far ahead of its nearest competitor, Busch Light, which came in at 28th.
For the Top 30 Beer Brand Performers ranking, IRI analyzed volume growth, share of segment trends, everyday base pricing, and incremental sales growth in 2007 versus 2006 to determine the brands with the strongest performance in the beer industry.
Blue Moon Brewing Company Named Champion Brewery at 2008 World Beer Cup®
Blue Moon’s summer seasonal beer, Blue Moon Honey Moon, won a Gold Medal in the Specialty Honey Lager category. In 2007, Honey Moon won its second consecutive Gold Medal in the Specialty Honey Lager/Ale category at the Great American Beer Festival®. A limited-edition brew, Blue Moon Chardonnay Blonde, won a Silver Medal in the Fruit and Vegetable brew category.

The Brewers Association World Beer Cup recognizes excellence in achievement by breweries and brewmasters with the Champion Brewery Awards. Only one brewery is recognized in each size category.
The Brewers Association World Beer Cup consists of an elite international panel of judges. The seventh bi-annual competition awarded medals to brewers from 21 countries ranging from Australia and Italy to Bolivia and Japan. This year, 644 breweries from 58 countries and 45 U.S. states vied for awards.

Dale Earnhardt Inc.’s No. 01 Chevrolet driven by Rookie of the Year candidate Regan Smith will feature a special paint scheme from Coors Light, “The World’s Most Refreshing Beer” and official beer of NASCAR® and NASCAR fans everywhere. The Coors Light and NASCAR logos will run on the car for this weekend’s Auto Club 500 at California Speedway and the upcoming UAW-Dodge 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
